Oakland County Early Childhood Application
GSRP Enrollment Process 2024-2025* updated August 2024
The process to register and enroll into GSRP has a number of steps which are outlined below. Please note this is a new process implemented throughout Oakland County, coordinated by the Help Me Grow Care Coordinators at Great Start Collaborative Oakland County.
- Family applies through Oakland County Early Childhood Application (Michigan Early Childhood Connect (MiECC)) http://www.miecc.org/MiECC/application/add/63
- Help Me Grow Care Coordinators from Great Start Collaborative Oakland County receive and review all applications.
- Families that are below 600% Federal Poverty Level (FPL), the Care Coordinators work with families to collect income documentation, age eligibility documentation, and residency documentation. Once all of the documentation is collected and verified, Care Coordinators email programs and let them know they have a new referral/assignment for GSRP.
- Families above 600% (FPL), the Care Coordinators will email programs (i.e. RCS Pre-K) to let them know they have a new referral/assignment for GSRP. RCS Pre-K will work with families to collect income documentation, age eligibility and residency documentation.
- The Pre-K Secretary or Pre-K Consultant contacts families within a week of the email notification. One of the following will be sent:
- The family is notified of additional RCS GSRP program specific documentation needed to move to the next steps.
- The family is notified they are on the waiting list and will be contacted in the future if/when a spot becomes available.
- If the child resides out of district boundaries, the family is notified they are on the waiting list and will be contacted after August 1st if spots reamin available.
- If the child’s birthdate is between 09/02/2020-12/01/2020, the family is notified they are on the waiting list and will be contacted after Agusut 1st if spots remain available.
- Once all RCS GSRP program specific documentation is received, families will be asked to enroll into the Rochester Community Schools District through our Student Enrollment Department.
