BigSun Scholarship

The BigSun Organization is proud to be able to continue to help young athletes succeed in their academic pursuits. We are offering an annual scholarship to a deserving student. All student athletes are eligible for this award, regardless of which sport they are participating in

Community Foundation for Southeast MI

The Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan offers dozens of scholarship funds for graduating high school seniors.

What’s better is that students need only submit ONE application through the general application link to be considered for any scholarship for which they are eligible. Students can learn more and apply at CFSEM.org/Scholarships.

GE-REAGAN FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The GE-Reagan Foundation Scholarship Program annually awards roughly 20 college bound students who demonstrate exemplary leadership, drive, integrity, and citizenship with $10,000 renewable scholarships up to $40,000 total per recipient  For more information, eligibility requirements, and an on line application visit www.reaganfoundation.org/scholarships

Horatio Alger Association

Scholarship criteria include graduation in 2019 with a commitment to pursue and complete a career or technical certificate/degree.  Must also demonstrate critical financial need, be involved in Co-Curricular and community service activities, display perseverance in overcoming personal adversity, commitment to pursuing a bachelor's degree and United States citizenship.  Minimum GPA of 2.0.  Applications are available at https://scholars.horatioalger.org/

MICHIGAN EDUCATION ASSOCIATION (MEA)

Scholarships are available for students who graduate from a public high school and plan to attend a Michigan public college or university or technical institution that grants a degree or certification.  These awards are based on academic achievement, extra-curricular activities and school/community service.  Applications are available at www.mea.org/mea-scholarship.  Student must be a dependent of MEA member in good standing.  Deadline is February 21, 2019.

National Association of Black Suppliers

Black Suppliers Scholarship Fund (NABS) seeks to provide scholarships to graduating African-American seniors in high school who have outstanding academic and community leadership and who plan to enroll full time in engineering, technology, business, healthcare or a related curriculum.  A stipend of up to $5,000 per year for up to five years is available.  Application and essay is due March 17, 2019.  Applications available in the counseling office.

Oakland Community College - Chancellors Scholarship

$3,500 available for students attending OCC starting in the Fall of 2018.  Official transcript along with their Chancellor's Scholarship application are needed.  Download the application from www.oaklandcc.edu/finaid/scholarships.aspx Due March 31

Officer Collins Memorial Foundation Scholarship

The Officer Collin Rose Memorial Foundation Scholarship honors the memory of fallen Wayne State University Police Officer Collin Rose. He was murdered while on a street investigation in Detroit in November 2016. He was pursuing a master’s degree from the university at the time of his death. Award Amount: $1000.00. This scholarship may be renewed once for the following academic year. Student must request renewal by April 1, 2020 and show proof of continued enrollment in one of the eligibility fields of study while maintaining passing grades. Deadline for application is April 1, 2019.

U of M Club of Greater Detroit Scholarships

Deadline is January 18, 2019.  Twelve unique scholarships opportunties for qulaity students who will be incoming Freshman.  Applications are at www.umclubgreaterdetroit.org Information is available on their web page or in the counseling office.  To be eligible you must EITHER have an ACT of 31 or higher, SAT socre of 1430 or higher or be in the top 1% of your graduating class.
