Class Schedule for Remote Learning

Secondary Schedule for Remote LearningRemote Learning Schedule 2020

2020-21 Return to School Roadmap: Click here for more information

Our goal is to provide meaningful learning opportunities for students based on their current course schedule. Students are encouraged to complete the activities and tasks provided by teachers.
Parents and students are welcome to reach out to teachers and staff for any questions they may have via email. Access our staff directory for email addresses here.

Expectations of Secondary Students:

  • Students should check their district student email accounts and/or their teachers' Remind texts daily about coursework, lessons, and/or content. Students should receive information from teachers based on the schedule of daily interactions above.
  • Teachers may also be using an online learning management system, such as Moodle or Google Classroom, for communication and coursework. Access the list of RHS remote learning class codes by teacher and course hour here.
  • Attendance will be taken; students are encouraged to participate as much as they can.
  • No letter grades will be given during remote learning. Students will receive feedback on submitted work and work may be graded on a pass/fail basis.
  • At the end of the semester, students will receive a G (pass/credit) or an H (fail/no credit). This will be based on the participation and the work submitted. This will not impact a student’s GPA either positively or negatively.
  • If a student does not understand something, he/she can contact the teacher the same day, if possible. Please understand teachers may not be able to respond right away. We ask for patience if a student does not receive communication from a teacher on the day of the class.
  • Students are expected to use proper netiquette during online learning:
    • Use respectful behavior and language.
    • Stick to appropriate topic discussions.
    • Wear school appropriate clothing when attending meetings via video.
    • Be honest with the work you do - do not plagiarize or copy off of others’ work.
    • Treat others online as you would want to be treated in person.

Attendance for Remote Learning

Attendance will be taken. A student will be counted as “attending” whenever there is teacher contact, such as an assignment returned, participation in a class meeting, an email, etc.

Work Permits for Students

During this unprecedented school closure due to COVID-19, we are continuing to serve our job-seeking students and their employers by fulfilling work permit requests electronically.
Please note: All fields (including signatures) must be legible, and all needed fields must be complete. (If a signature is not legible, please also print the name.) Incomplete or illegible permits will be delayed.
Students: Please download and print (or ask your employer to print) the correct form for your age below:

To complete the form:

  1. Students, complete the top portion of the permit and have your employer complete the middle section.
  2. Once both top sections are complete, please scan (or take a CLEAR picture) and email to Mrs. Garr, RHS Registrar, kgarr@rochester.k12.mi.us.
  3. An RCS representative will then complete the bottom section and email the completed form back to you to give to your employer. We will retain a copy for your student file. We will use your RCS Student ID to verify your identity.

Employers: During this time, we cannot provide the colored sheets of paper that correspond to the age of the employee, so please verify that the student’s age listed at the top of the form matches the age you have on file for your employee.
