RACE has a study skills class to help those who want to take the GED test. Classes are FREE for most individuals who do not have a high school diploma, who are at least 18 years old, as of 9/1/2018, and whose class has graduated prior to June 2018. All resident and non-resident students are welcome. For those who are 20 years old* and older, you will be assessed for placement, and charged a $50 assessment fee (check or cash) per trimester.
Bring to registration at the RACE Building:
  • Proof of birth (e.g., driver's license or birth certificate)
  • Official Transcripts
Fees for Students 20 Years Old* and Older after September 1, 2018
  • $50 non-refundable assessment fee per trimester (cash or check)
  • 20 & 21 year old students may have assesment/assessment fee waived
RACE is NO LONGER a certified computer based GED Testing Center for the 2014 GED Test. We hope to re-open our testing center by the fall of 2019. In the meantime, you may register for the test and view a GED testing schedule, at a location near you, at www.ged.com. The cost of the test is $150 or $37.50 for each individual test, but can vary depending on the testing center.  RACE students may still qualify for a substantial discount on your GED test if you meet the GED-To-School Program requirements. Please be sure to talk to our counseling staff for more information.
*As we are in the process of updating this page, we will soon list local GED Testing Centers for our RACE students and community members.*

Takesha R was nominated by her math teacher, Mr. Torok. Takesha works extremely hard while in school but just as hard while at home. She’s not afraid to ask questions in class and for extra resources to work on while at home. She always wants to make sure she understands the concepts and move on to the next challenge.
