The Association of School Business Officials International Meritorious Budget Award (MBA) recognizes school districts in the United States and Canada for excellence in school budget presentation, setting a high standard for transparent budget development. For the 2018-2019 fiscal year, Rochester Community Schools was one of 150 school districts in the United States and Canada to receive the award. There were only three other districts in the State of Michigan. For the 2019-2020 school year, Rochester Community Schools has earned the distinction for the third time.

Business & Finance

The Business Office is made up of the Office of the Deputy Superintendent for Business Affairs which includes the Business Office, Facilities Operations, Food Services, Human Resources, Mail Room, Payroll, Purchasing, Student Enrollment and Transportation. Each department works independently but supports the division as a whole. The Business Office provides the district and the community with a variety of services, performed with maximum efficiency.

The Business Office consists of budget and financial reporting, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, grant reporting, debt service, banking and investments, and auditing.
