Drop Off and Pick Up Pointers

Drop Off and Pick Up Pointers (please read carefully and touch base with thoughts, ideas, or questions):

  • Please do not drop your student(s) off at the building before 8:40 am or pick up from school after 4:10 pm.
  • Please use School Age Care (SAC) services if you need to drop off before 8:40 am or pick up after 4:10 pm.
  • SAC doors lock at 8:40. Kids may only enter through the front or bus loop doors.
  • Parents may only enter through the front doors and must sign in and apply a "visitor" sticker.
  • A few weeks in it is time to realease independence to your kids at drop off, even the younest ones. They are ready and it helps them grow.
  • Pleas be patient when dropping off in the car line, it moves faster than you think.  Safety first!
  • Please note that the car line is a single lane.  Please do not pull around another car.
  • Please make arrangements for your student(s) to exit and enter the car on the school side.
  • Please post your child's full name on the passenger side window of your car if you plan to use the car line at pick up.
  • Please pull all the way forward and follow our safety patrol and volunteers' instrcutions at drop off and pick up.
  • Please park in the parking lot and walk to pick your child up from our pick up/walker doors.
  • Please remember that students are never allowed to be in the parking lot without an adult.
  • Please note, the only safe way to alert school of a transportation change is to call Mrs. Legree at (248) 726-4100.
  • Please also send a written note if possible when transportation changes are needed.  Teachers can not always check email during the day.
  • Please park in our lot on the east side of the building when picking up or visiting school. Parking on sourounding streets puts walkers at risk.
  • Please always drive slowly and be aware of students & walking families in the neighborhood.
  • Please do not turn left into our car line coming north on Castlebar.  It only takes an extra moment to drive around the block.
  • Thank you!

At Meadow Brook we believe that children are capable of incredible things, especially when they have the right tools and the right supports.

Better Because of Me When I'm Safe, Respectful, and Responsible

The video below illustrates some of the foundation of how our Meadow Brook

Problem Solving Process (PSP) is growing and impacting the

development of independence with regard to self regulation of emotions,

conflict resolution and restorative practices in our students.
