Congratulations to our 2018 Founder's Day award recipients!

Jamie Rawcliffe

Jamie Rawcliffe is an excellent collaborator and a hard-working team player. She enthusiastically took on the Authors in April program at Meadow Brook, making changes resulting in more participation. Not only does she currently co-chair the Green Schools committee, she is also our recording secretary. Jamie helps out whenever needed!

Kristine Ma

An essential part of the Meadow Brook PTA for several years, Kristine helps with a host of committees and events, including Motor Moms and Dads, Spirit Wear, Math Pentathlon, Talent Show, Spring Carnival, and Fun Run! This year she implemented a school-wide class t-shirt program while simultaneously co-chairing the Fun Run. Thank you, Kristine!

Seth Berg

Seth Berg has served as Principal at Meadow Brook for four years and participates actively in the PTA, attending meetings and offering to help with any programs and initiatives. He is a big proponent of partnering with staff and parents to create a vibrant learning communitiy at Meadow Brook. Meadow Brook is better because of him!

What does it mean to be a PTA member?

It means you are interested in staying informed and involved in your child's educational experience. Do you have to attend the PTA meetings? No. Do you have to volunteer your time? No. While those things are helpful, the only requirement is your interest in creating the best environment for your child and the Meadow Brook community.

How can you participate?

  • Talk with other parents about what is happening in our school - field trips, curriculum, school culture, assemblies, etc.
  • Read the information and articles provided by the state and national PTA organizations. Their websites include family engagement strategies, homework help, child safety tips and much more.
  • Attend PTA meetings. Ours are held monthly, usually on a Tuesday, from 6:30-8:00 p.m., in the media center. Our meeting calendar is available below for your reference.
  • Read the PTA newsletter (sent via email monthly).
  • Attend Meadow Brook social events to encourage a cohesive Meadow Brook community.
  • Volunteer to help with a Meadow Brook event.
  • Follow local and statewide legislative news regarding our schools. Talk with your senators and state representatives. Attend school board meetings.

True, you don't need to be a PTA member to participate in anything listed here. However, you do need to be a member to support the people and programs that enable these activities and resources. So, become a member today by clicking here, printing out the form, and returning it to school. We would love to have your support!
