Dear Brewster Elementary Staff and Families,

As we wrap up a wonderful school year and say our goodbyes to students and staff for the summer, I find my anticipation and excitement for next year growing. I am honored to be joining the Brewster community and have eagerly started planning for opportunities to connect with my new school family! Stay tuned for future communication sharing the special opportunities I will be hosting to meet both parents and students!

For those I have yet to meet, I offer this small snapshot into my personal and professional life. Personally, I am a proud wife and mother and owe my success to the support of my family! They support my passion for being in education and allow me to challenge myself and live my dream. Next year my daughter, Ellie, will be a senior, and my son, Bobby, will be a freshman. Time has flown by and truly I can’t believe we are considering colleges with Ellie. Ellie continues to live into her passion of riding horses, often bareback, and Bobby can’t get enough of the ice while sharpening his skills for his hockey season. In our free time, you can find us playing with our dog, April, rooting for the Red Wings, or enjoying a DQ Blizzard or an Alibi pizza! These random, joyful moments are truly the best in our fast paced lives.

Professionally, I will be entering my 19th year with Rochester Community Schools. I have 9 years teaching first grade and 6 years serving as a learning consultant at Hugger Elementary. Most recently, I have completed three amazing years at Long Meadow Elementary as principal. I have my Bachelor of Science in Education from Bowling Green State University (BGSU) and my Masters in Teaching and Learning from Marygrove College. My Education Specialist degree in Leadership is from Oakland University. Go Grizzlies! I love to learn and hope to continue further educational goals after my kids enjoy their college careers.

I realize change in leadership can bring a mix of excitement and anxious moments for the school community. It is my intent to grow relationships and learn the traditions of excellence that make Brewster a very special place to learn. My door will be open. I will listen and learn about your hopes and dreams for our school. Your voice will be heard and respected, and your constructive feedback will be appreciated. I value genuine collaboration and feel it is the best way to build upon a positive school culture. Please stop in, send an email, or give me a call and connect!

I promise to be a leader that is visible, approachable, and honest. I will give you my all, and encourage, challenge, and support every one of us to be the best we can be for each and every child, every day at Brewster.

Thank you for allowing me to serve the Brewster Elementary school community. I am honored and humbled.
