Karen Malsbury, Director of Career Readiness, CTE, and CFE
With over 22 years of dedicated service to Rochester Community Schools at Rochester High School, Mrs. Karen Malsbury has established herself as a transformative leader in education. She began her career as a technology facilitator, later transitioning to a Business teacher, and now serves as the district's Director of Career and Technical Education (CTE) and Career Readiness.
Mrs. Malsbury is deeply involved in the Rochester community, serving on the Rochester Principal Shopping District Committee for the Downtown Development Authority for the past three years. She has cultivated strong partnerships with local businesses, nonprofits, and government entities, positioning her to lead the district's career readiness and CTE initiatives in innovative and impactful directions.
Known for her keen eye for operational efficiency, Mrs. Malsbury has pioneered creative resources like the RCS CoLab Check-Out Closet, empowering teachers with tools to enhance classroom learning. A servant leader at heart, she remains connected to the classroom by chaperoning student events, co-teaching, and training educators in the latest software, hardware, and CTE systems.
Mrs. Malsbury’s academic credentials include a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Wales, a Postgraduate Certificate in Education in Information Technology from Warwick University, and a Master’s in Administration of Career and Technical Education from Western Michigan University. She is also a certified Global Career Development Facilitator.
Outside of her professional commitments, Mrs. Malsbury enjoys supporting her daughters, Hannah and Holly. Hannah is pursuing a mechanical engineering degree apprenticeship at Bentley Motors in England, while Holly is a senior at Stoney Creek High School, active in sports, philanthropy, and career and technical student organizations. Mrs. Malsbury and her husband, Simon, share a passion for travel and exploring the world together.

Jennifer Diemert, Career Readiness Consultant
Jennifer is currently serving as the Career Readiness Consultant, supporting the district's CTE and career readiness objectives for kindergarten through 12th grade. This is her second year in this role. Previously, she spent her entire career teaching S.T.E.M. at Van Hoosen Middle School. She graduated from Michigan State University in 2016 with a Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education, focusing on integrated science. She returned to Michigan State University and completed her Master of Arts in Educational Technology in 2020. During her six years of teaching in Rochester Community Schools, she also served as a volleyball coach and robotics advisor. With her passion as an educator and Career Readiness Consultant, Jennifer brings a blend of educational expertise, innovative STEM teaching experience, and strong mentoring skills to effectively support the Rochester CoLab, community partnerships, and career readiness experiences for all RCS students. In her free time, she enjoys spending time on the lake and walking her dog.
