What can I do with Scribe?
This tool is primarily used for viewing guides at Rochester Community Schools. It ensures staff have clear, easy-to-follow instructions for navigating various digital tasks. For creators, Scribe automatically captures actions as you complete a digital task and turns them into a step-by-step guide with screenshots and instructions. Once created, these guides can be shared with others to help them follow the same process.
How does Scribe work?
Scribe works by providing step-by-step guidance directly within your browser. To access a guide, you’ll need to click on the Scribe Chrome Extension, which will open a pop-up panel on the side of your screen. From there, you can navigate websites as usual while Scribe provides real-time instructions.
If guidance is available for the platform you’re using, a small number will appear on the Scribe Chrome Extension, indicating the number of relevant guides. Additionally, a live link will show up on the side navigation, allowing you to click on the available guide options.
How do I get the Chrome Extension?
Staff at Rochester Community Schools using a district-issued device will automatically have the Scribe Chrome extension downloaded and pinned to their navigation bar. If you are using another device, you will need to download and pin the Scribe extension manually.
