Enrollment for the 2024-25 school year is open

Enrollment for the 2023-2024 school year will remain open throughout the current school year

Once you have read through the following information and gathered all of the required enrollment documents please scroll to the bottom of the page and select either "New Family Enrollment Process" or "Current or Returning RCS Family Enrollment Process" to submit your online enrollment.

All enrollments are submitted online through ParentVUE

We cannot process enrollments without ALL required documentation

All enrollments must be submitted by a parent or legal guardian.
If, during the online enrollment, you select "I will provide a hard copy to the Student Enrollment Department instead of uploading it" for any of the required documents, please reach out to the Enrollment Department either via email (RCSEnrollment@rochester.k12.mi.us) or phone (248-726-3166) to discuss missing document submission. Registrations submitted without all required documentation will be reactivated to your ParentVUE account after two school days if you have not contacted us. You can then re-submit the enrollment when you have the required documents. Your enrollment will not be processed until we have received all of the required documents.
If your address has changed, you will need to upload the new proofs of residency during the enrollment process. You will not be able to change your address during your online enrollment. The enrollment office will update your address when they process your enrollment.
All Transitional Kindergarten (TK) placements must be pre-approved. If you are interested in enrolling in TK please visit the Transitional Kindergarten webpage and complete the TK Placement form prior to submitting your enrollment. TK enrollments will not be processed until placement is approved by the Curriculum Department.
If you stop the enrollment process and log out, online registration saves the entered information. You can click Resume Registration or Start Over next time you log in to resume your online registration.
Rochester Community Schools reserves the right to verify documentation provided at the time of enrollment. Enrollment may be delayed during the verification process.

Required Enrollment Documents

Please have the following required documents in digital form before you start the online registration process.

Certified copy of your child's birth certificate. Must be in English.
Proof of home ownership (current property tax statement or Property Transfer Affidavit if you have just purchased a new home) or current lease (must include signature page of lease.)
Current gas or electric bill showing the date, address and parent's name
Up-to-date immunization records in English
Current parent driver's license or passport

Please submit documents 1 and 2 from the list below.

The fully signed Property Transfer Affidavit and
A copy of a current gas or electric bill which include the name and address of the homeowner. If you do not have a copy of a utility bill yet please submit a written confirmation from the gas or electric company stating that services have/will be started in your name at your new address

Families leasing a home within the district

Please submit both documents #1 and #2 from the list below.

A fully signed lease agreement which must include the name of the parent/guardian as the leaseholder and the term of the lease. You must submit a copy of the signature page of the lease.
A copy of a current gas or electric bill which include the name and address of the homeowner. If you do not have a copy of a utility bill yet please submit a written confirmation from the gas or electric company stating that services have/will be started in your name at your new address

Families residing with a resident who owns/leases their home in the district

If you are residing with a resident who owns their home please submit the following documents:

A copy of the home owners current gas or electric bill which include the name and address of the homeowner
A copy of the home owners recent property tax statement, or the current, fully signed lease agreement. You and your child(ren) must be listed on the lease agreement as occupants.
A copy of the home owners driver's license
A copy of your driver's license
A signed and notarized Shared Household Affidavit

Families building/purchasing a home within the district

1. Signed Purchase Agreement in the parent/guardian's name. The Purchase Agreement must include an anticipated closing date between February 15^th of the current school year and September 1^st of the upcoming school year.

Once you have moved into your new home we will need you to provide final proof of residency as detailed below.

The fully signed Property Transfer Affidavit and
A copy of a current gas or electric bill which include the name and address of the homeowner. If you do not have a copy of a utility bill yet please submit a written confirmation from the gas or electric company stating that services have/will be started in your name at your new address

Birth Certificate

If the birth certificate is in a language other than English you must submit the birth certificate along with a certified translation
You may enroll with your child's current passport, but you must submit a certified birth certificate within 30 days of enrollment
Birth certificate must be submitted by a parent or legal guardian. We cannot accept a birth certificate from your child's previous school, nor can we release a copy of your child's birth certificate.
Local school districts are required by law to verify birth dates of all pupils entering school for the first time. Rochester Community Schools requests parents or guardians to present, at the time of registration, a certified birth certificate. If you need to obtain a certified birth certificate for your child, you can do so by contacting the county or state where your child was born. The state of Michigan now allows requests for certified birth certificates through their on-line service.

Immunization Records

Michigan law requires all children to have ALL required immunizations or a valid waiver on file prior to the start of school.

If your child's immunization records are in a language other then English, please obtain a certified, translated copy of the immunizations for enrollment.

The following circumstances allow a required vaccine to be waived or delayed:

A valid medical contraindication exists, preventing the child from receiving the vaccine at this time. A medical waiver should be completed and signed by the child’s physician and should state the contraindication, vaccine involved, and time period during which the child is prevented from receiving the vaccine.
The parents/caregivers have valid religious or philosophical beliefs which prevent receipt of a vaccination. Waivers should not be taken lightly. A child who is not fully vaccinated against vaccine- preventable diseases could be a risk to others and for contracting the disease.

Academic Records

Please be prepared to provide the name, address and phone number of your child's previous school during the online enrollment process

If you do not have the following documents at the time of enrollment, please proceed with the enrollment and be prepared to provide the appropriate documents prior to your child starting school.

If your child is receiving special education services, please provide a copy of the student's current Individual Education Plan (IEP) when enrolling online
If your child has a 504, please provide a current copy during the online enrollment process
Secondary students should be prepared to provide their counselor with an unofficial transcript
Elementary students may be asked by their school to provide a copy of their most recent report card

Please do not create a new account if you already have an account. If you create a new account you will not be able to view information for student's currently enrolled, or for any student previously enrolled.

New Family Enrollment Process

If your family is new to the Rochester School District you will need to create a ParentVUE account with Rochester Schools to enroll. Please select the "Create Account" button below to begin the process of enrollment.

Current or Returning RCS Family Enrollment Process

Once you are logged into your account, please be sure to select the correct year you would like your child enrolled in from the drop down options.

Parents enrolling their first child in the district will be able to see the status of the enrollment when accessing their ParentVUE account.
