Reminder 101

Welcome to the 2017-2018 schoolyear.  Please sign up for Reminder 101.  It allows students and parents to get text/email reminders from the teacher regarding test/quizzes and other important events.

Advanced 7th and Algebra students (2018-2019)

Click on "Summer Homework 2018" below

Algebra students should print out the summer packet (save paper and print on both sides) and complete it before the start of the new school year.

Advanced 7th students do not need to print the packet (it's too long).  Complete the questions from the packet on a seperate sheet of paper (or a sprial notebook).   Multiple choice questions can include just the correct answer (but show how you got the answer).  Show work!

The purpose of the summer review packet will be to refresh your math skills and to promote a seamless transition to either Advanced 7th or Algebra. Both classes are very challenging compared to the previous math course you took last year.

Most of the questions from the packet should be review from your previous math course. However, there are a few concepts that you may not have seen before.  Give each question your best effort, regardless of your familiarity.   Aim to complete one practice test each week (promise it won’t ruin your summer).  You may skip1-2 questions per practice test. Skipping more than 2 per test will be considered an incomplete assignment. DON'T SKIP ANY IF YOU KNOW HOW TO DO IT!

The packet will be worth 10  points when you come back in the fall. Failure to complete the packet may affect your 1st MP grade.

Unfortunately the answer key is not uploading properly so correcting the packet is not required.

ALL WORK (when possible) MUST BE SHOWN to receive credit.  You can include work on a seperate sheet of paper if there is not enough room on the actual printout (make sure you staple your work to the packet when you turn in).

PLEASE DO NOT COPY THE PACKET AND SAVE IT FOR THE LAST WEEK OF SUMMER BREAK!  Completing it in one day or even one week defeats its purpose and you will notice a difference when school starts.  Students who have crammed it all at once or did not complete the packet, tend to struggle towards the beginning of the shcool year.

Have a wonderful, relaxing summer break!

I'm looking forward to seeing my former students and meeting all the new students in the fall, refreshed, and ready for a successful year!!
