There are many great ways to become involved at Van Hoosen!  We encourage all students to join a team, club, or be part of the after school activities.  This is a reminder that the Rochester Community Schools are now charging a fee for participation in some clubs. If you have documented financial difficulties and are unable to pay the fee, please contact the office for available scholarships.  Please stay tuned to this web page for the latest extra-curricular/student activity information and opportunities.

Do you like to create new things, explore technology, and think creatively?  The Makerspace Club is a club for students who want to do just that!  This club will be an opportunity to use the materials in our Makerspace to explore, design, build, and create whatever your imagination allows.  We will work with snap circuits, Little Bits circuits, the Makey Makey system, coding, Legos, K'Nex, design and construction using hosehold materials, and more!  If you have other things that you want to create, this is the place to do so!  This club will give you an hour each week to use your imagination to design, create, build , interact, and experiment with the group.  A makerspace uitilizes STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math) concepts to help students think critically using hands-on activities.

Intramurals are a great way to keep active and have fun!  Most meet after school and are facilitated by many of our very own Van Hoosen Staff.  There is a nominal fee.  Intramurals run in three seasons:  Fall, Winter, and Spring.  We are sure that you will find some fun-filled activities that will keep you challenged and active!
