Welcome to the Art Room!

Welcome to the University Hills Art Room!

We are pleased to have the opportunity to teach your children!  The three of us have been working together at UHills for three years now and do our best to bring the students at University Hills the best art educational experience that they can have!  We implement the district art curriculum that is based on the elements and principles of design, which include: line, shape, color, form, texture, space, value, unity, emphasis, balance, pattern, rhythm, movement, and contrast. Each lesson touches one or many of these areas of art!  We also include information on several master artists, their life background, techniques and style of art.  Students have the opportunity to not only create with drawing utensils, pencil, markers, paint, watercolors, oil pastels, chalk, and more… they will also experience creating 3-Dimensional projects with clay, wood, and paper mache.  If you have used plastic containers with lids, yarn, newspapers, magazines, old t-shirts or button up shirts, or anything else you feel we could use in the art room, send them in with your child or drop them off yourself!  If you have any questions or concerns you can contact us at 248-726-4426 or tmccue@rochester.k12.mi.us or aking@rochester.k12.mi.us.
