star imageHello!! I am Mrs. Rieck. I am very excited that you are in our rockstar classroom! We will have a wonderful year this year full of adventures and learning! I hope you all had a wonderful summer and are ready to rock and roll into third grade! We will have a chance to meet each other at the World of Welcome on Wednesday, August 29th from 12:15-1:15pm in our classroom 3C. I would also like you to pick up the summer selfie page when you come to the World of Welcome, and fill it out over the next week. We will be sharing these pictures the first week of school!

If you have chosen to purchase school supplies, please do not put your name on them. We will be sorting them on the first day of school. If you did not purchase a supply kit but would like to have your own supplies, the third grade supply list is listed on the University Hills Home Page under the "Files and Folders" Section.

Our first day of school is Tuesday, September 4th. Our first day will be a half day of school, which ends at 11:23.  School starts at 8:10 and ends at 3:13. When you get to school on the first day, you will line up with the other third graders on the black top by the playground. When the first bell rings at 8:05 you may enter the building and walk to our classroom. Our room is located downstairs in the corner, room 3-C. We have snack everyday in the morning. Please pack a healthy, NUT FREE snack labeled with your name.

If your child does not ride a bus, let us know, in writing, what arrangements you have made for picking up your child (School Age Care, Kinder Care, a babysitter's name or neighbor's name, etc.) Please notify us immediately, in writing, if these plans ever change. Otherwise we are required by law to send your child home according to the usual pick-up plan.

Another note will come home with your child on the first week of school explaining more of the classroom routines and procedures. If you ever have questions or concerns, please feel free to contact us at school 726-4400 or e-mail. We are looking forward to getting to know both you and your child.

Enjoy the last few days of your vacation! It's going to be a great year!
