K-1 Students Shine at Math Pentathlon Competition

Our K-1 Math Pentathletes spent their Saturday competing against other K-1 Math Pentathletes from around the state on April 22nd. We are so proud to have them representing University Hills! A huge "thank you" goes out to their wonderful coach, Karen Stylianou!

University Hills Students Shine at Town Hall!

University Hills 5th graders presented a booktalk to employees of Rochester Hills at Town Hall. They worked very hard on their presentation as part of the Authors in April Community Book Read of the Newbery Honor book "Rules" by Cynthia Lord. What a great opportunity for these students! Great job, boys!

2nd/3rd Grade Math Pentathletes Compete!

University Hills is so proud of our 2nd and 3rd grade math pentathletes! These students spent their Saturday competing against students from all over Michigan in math games and critical thinking. They exemplified great sportsmanship and teamwork! Thank you to coach Brandy Misra for all her hard work to help get these students ready for this amazing event!

Battle of the Books

University Hills was well represented at the community wide Battle of the Books hosted by the RHPL. 5th grade students gathered teams and coaches last fall to read 12 assigned books. At the battle, teams worked together to answer 50 questions about those 12 books. The goal is to be the team with the most correct answers.The winners will be announced soon! We are so proud of our readers!

Fall Family Festival

The UHills PTA hosted another wonderful Fall Family Festival! Thank you PTA volunteers who make this possible for our community!

Family Science Night

University Hills celebrated its Family Science Night in a big way! There were student created science projects, as well as individual hands-on science, technology and engineering projects for the whole family to experience. A huge thank you goes out to Amy Kennedy for her hard work to make this such a successful event for our University Hills community!

4th Graders Skype Interview Zoo Expert

With the help of 4th grade teacher Miss Guthard and Information Literacy Specialist, Mrs. Kelley, 4th grade students at UHills interviewed Brad Barr, Detroit Zoo Education Specialist, to help answer questions that they had for their Passion Projects. Students prepared interview questions about various animals that they are writing about and took turns interviewing the expert. (FYI~ that is a replica of a crocodile's head, not the real thing.)

Kindergarten Celebrates 100 Days of School

UHills kindgarteners celebrate 100 days of school by coming to school as their 100 year-old self. Those are certainly some smart looking centarians!

The University Hills Eagle showed up at a celebration assembly to learn the student created Eagle Cheer ~ Give me an "E"! ~ Excellence!
