We're SO excited for another great school year!

Hello! Welcome to my classroom page! My name is Mrs. Conniff and I am one of the three Third Grade Teachers at University Hills!  I am so excited to start another brand new year!  I hope that you had a wonderful summer, full of many special memories and that your child is now ready to begin a wonderful school year. We have the opportunity to meet each other at the World of Welcome on Wednesday, August 29th from 12:00-1:00. I hope to see you and your child there!

Rochester Community Schools provides the necessary materials and supplies for curricular classes, but if you have chosen to purchase school supplies for your child, please do not put your child's name on them. We will be sorting them on the first day of school. If you ordered supplies through the PTA, you will be able to pick them up during the World of Welcome. If you did not purchase supply kits but would like your child to have their own supplies, the third grade supply list is on our class webpage below or on the school home page.

Our first day of school is Tuesday, September 4th. It will be a half day! School starts at 8:10. On half days, school ends at 11:23. On full days school will end at 3:13. The third grades line up in the back of the school on the black top by the playground. When the first bell rings at 8:05, they may enter the building and walk to our classroom. My classroom is located downstairs in the corner, room 3-B. Students need to be in the room ready to begin our day no later than 8:15.

Students will want to bring a nutritious nut-free snack for our morning snack break. They are also welcome to bring in a water bottle with only clear, unflavored water. Please remember to label personal items.

If your child does not ride a bus, please let me know, through e-mail or in writing, what arrangements you have made for picking up your child (School Age Care, Kinder Care, grandparent, babysitter or neighbor's name, etc.) If that schedule ever changes, please let me know, once again in writing. Otherwise I am required by law to send your child home according to the usual pick up plan.

Another note will be coming home the first week of school explaining our classroom routines, procedures, and specials schedule. If you have questions or concerns, please contact me through e-mail, aconniff@rochester.k12.mi.us or call the main office (248) 726-4400.

Enjoy what is left of your summer vacation! II'm looking forward a great year!

Sincerely,

Mrs. Conniff
