Larry Goralski, Principal

 

Mr. Larry Goralski (Mr. G) is entering his 4th year in the position of principal at Stoney Creek but he is not new to the Rochester Community Schools.  He has been in the district over 20 years as a teacher and administrator.  Mr. G taught and coached at McGregor, Reuther and Hart Middle School before becoming an assistant principal at Hart working with Mr. Hickey who was the principal.  After several years there he became a principal at Brooklands.  In fact over 20 students in this year's senior class were in kindergarten at Brooklands when Mr. G was there as principal.  From Brooklands Mr. G went to Adams High School as an assistant principal for two years before rejoining Mr. Hickey to open Stoney Creek as the new third high school in Rochester.

 

Mr. G has his Master's Degree in Administration from Central Michigan University.  He also has his Bachelor's and Education Specialist degrees from Oakland University.

Mr. G is married to his 8th grade sweetheart Molly, who teaches at Hart Middle School. They have two daughters. Emilee, who was married this summer and moving to Rockford where she will continue to teach and Mackenzie, who is entering her junior year at North Central College in Naperville, Illinois studying biology. In his spare time Mr. G enjoys playing golf with Molly and the girls. Mr. G loves being at Stoney Creek and is proud of the student-centered environment that has been created by the incredible staff.

John R. Kelley, Assistant Principal

 

Mr. Kelley is in his 2nd year at Stoney Creek and his 14th year in education. Prior to joining Stoney Creek, Mr. Kelley spent a year as assistant principal-intern at Hart Middle School. Before that, Mr. Kelley taught Spanish, Speech, and Computer classes for Rochester Community Schools after beginning his teaching career with Chippewa Valley Schools. As a teacher, Mr. Kelley coached basketball, softball, and was involved with several committees and clubs. Mr. Kelley joined the field of education after spending time working for Chrysler in the Midwestern United States and Mexico.

 

Mr. Kelley received his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Michigan-Dearborn, secondary teaching certification from Oakland University, and his Master's degree from Wayne State University. He also completed the Oakland Schools Aspiring Principals Leadership Academy program. His wife is also an educator and they have two daughters in elementary school.

Amanda McKay, Assistant Principal 

 

Mrs. McKay is an assistant principal at Stoney Creek. Previously, Mrs. McKay was a middle school principal at Kennedy Middle School and high school assistant principal in the Lake Shore Public School district for a combined total of five years of previous administrative experience. Mrs. McKay taught English and Social Studies at Lake Orion High School. Mrs. McKay works with the classes of 2013 and 2015 on attendance and discipline.

 

Mrs. McKay earned her undergraduate degree from Michigan State University in Interdisciplinary Social Sciences with a minor in English while also earning her secondary teaching certification. While teaching in Lake Orion, Mrs. McKay earned her Master's Degree in K-12 Administration from MSU. Currently, Mrs. McKay is working to complete her Ph.D program in K-12 Administration at MSU.

In her spare time, Mrs. McKay enjoys running, reading and working on her dissertation.  Mrs. McKay and her family live in the Rochester community and she is thrilled to have the opportunity to serve the school district and community in which she lives and where her own children will attend school.
