NEW DAY Foundation For Families Check Presentation
Stoney Creek High School Principal Larry Goralski and Adams High School Principal Kevin Cumming make a check presentation in the amount of $35,070.00 to Michael and Gina Spehn of NEW DAY Foundation for Families. The NEW DAY Foundation for Families, established in 2007 by Michael and Gina Spehn, has brought hope and assistance to families of young children who have a parent battling cancer or who have lost a parent to this devastating disease. The NEW DAY Foundation for Families has helped several families in need including one within our own community.
In June of 2011, two community schools came together to sponsor not only a cross-town football game but also a game that became know as the Cross Town Charity Bowl this past fall, to help raise awareness and funding to help families who have been affected by cancer. Building on the previous years fundraising activities and elevating those expectations, Stoney Creek High School teamed up with Adams High School and their communities in promoting the slogan "Winning is in the Giving". Thus was developed a partnership with the NEW DAY Foundation for Families as this year's recipient of the Cross Town Charity Bowl fundraiser.
Thanks to the overwhelming support of the entire Stoney Creek and Adams Communities; from the football and cheer teams, to the students, parents, community members and the committee member's the end result was a great success as $35,070.00 was donated to help less fortunate families cope with their tragedies.
