General Educational Development (GED) classes are study prep classes for those who want to take the GED test. Classes are FREE for most individuals who do not have a high school diploma, who are at least 18 years old during the marking period of enrollment, and whose class has graduated prior to July 2012. All resident and non-resident students are welcome. For those who are 20 years old and older, you will be assessed for placement. There is a $35 assessment fee (check or cash) per school year. Bring to registration at the RACE Building:
  • Proof of birth (e.g., driver's license or birth certificate)
  • High school transcripts (You can obtain these directly from the last high school you attended.)
Fees for Students 20  Years Old and Older by September 1, 2012
  • $35 non-refundable assessment fee per school year (cash or check)
RACE is an official GED Testing Center. Checkout the Official GED Testing Center Schedules listed below. There are two convenient locations to take the test (You must register for the test at the RACE office in Rochester Hills, however.)
