 English as a Second Language

Many People, One World Study English at RACE. Learn English speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, and pronunciation skills. Also, understand idioms, practice your conversation skills, or study to be a U.S. citizen. Trained and certified teachers use up-to-date materials, teaching, and active learning methods to teach English in a friendly atmosphere. Some classes use Internet language learning software and other computer programs to enhance individual language development. Learn while having fun and meeting new friends.

Suk Ko

 

Nominated by: Ameena Yovan "Suk is always present and dedicated; her work is exemplary and thoughtful. She is one of the kindest and most self-deprecating people I know, and she definitely deserves this award!" This is Suk's first trimester at RACE and she is enrolled in the English as a Second Language Program in which she is thriving. Suk is funny, wry, generous and humble. She likes sewing, traveling and hopes to start volunteering again.

REGISTRATION TIMES

for the January - May 2016 classes

 

Registration for Residents and Non Residents:

 

In Class (Current Students Only): Nov. 30th, Dec. 1st - 3rd

 

All Non-Current Students:

Tuesday, January 19th

Wednesday, January 20th

Thursday, January 21st

 

Class begins on Monday, January 25th

 

9am to Noon OR 6-9pm

 

Late registration will take place if needed

 

Class Dates: (14 weeks a Semester)

Monday/Wednesday Classes - Jan. 25th to May. 4th

Tuesday/Thursday Classes - Jan. 26th to May. 5th

ESL End of the Year Ceremony on May. 5th

 

What do you need to bring to registration?

  • $60 non-refundable testing fee (cash or check only)
  • Proof of birth (e.g. Driver’s license, passport, birth certificate 

 

You must arrive at the designated time (9am or 6pm). Registration is NOT open all day. Plan to spend at least 2 hours for registration and testing for this free class. No children at registration please. Spaces are limited. Once spaces fill up, there will only be the opportunity to be put on a waiting list.

 

These classes run from January to May. If you can not attend class for that length of time, please do not register. We would like to have spaces available to people who are planning on staying for the whole course. 

Course Information

Classes will meet two days a week with two different sessions offered:

Mondays and Wednesdays

9am - 12:15pm OR 6pm - 9:15 pm

Tuesdays and Thursdays

9am - 12:15pm OR 6pm - 9:15 pm

Classes will run from September to December 2015

and

January to May 2016

Please be prepared to attend all sessions.

Advanced ESL Tuition Based Classes will take place:

Go English - Feb. 2nd to April. 26th (Tuesday 6-8pm)

Advanced Conversation - Feb. 4th to April. 28th (Thursday 6-8pm)

Cost: $150 per course (12 weeks in length)
