ESL Classes at RACE
English as a Second Language
Many People, One World Study English at RACE. Learn English speaking, listening, reading, writing, grammar, and pronunciation skills. Also, understand idioms, practice your conversation skills, or study to be a U.S. citizen. Trained and certified teachers use up-to-date materials, teaching, and active learning methods to teach English in a friendly atmosphere. Some classes use Internet language learning software and other computer programs to enhance individual language development. Learn while having fun and meeting new friends.
ESL STUDENT OF THE MONTH
Nominated by: Ameena Yovan "Suk is always present and dedicated; her work is exemplary and thoughtful. She is one of the kindest and most self-deprecating people I know, and she definitely deserves this award!" This is Suk's first trimester at RACE and she is enrolled in the English as a Second Language Program in which she is thriving. Suk is funny, wry, generous and humble. She likes sewing, traveling and hopes to start volunteering again.

Class Dates: (14 weeks a Semester)
Tuesday & Thursday Class begins on Monday, September 6th
Monday & Wedensday Class begins on Monday, September 7th
What do you need to bring to registration?
- $60 non-refundable testing fee (cash or check only)
- Proof of birth (e.g. Driver’s license, passport, birth certificate
You must arrive at the designated time (9am or 6pm). Registration is NOT open all day. Plan to spend at least 2 hours for registration and testing for this free class. No children at registration please. If children do attend, they must be supervised by an adult at all times. Spaces are limited. Once spaces fill up, there will only be the opportunity to be put on a waiting list.
These classes run from September to December. If you can not attend class for that length of time, please do not register. We would like to have spaces available to people who are planning on staying for the whole course.
Classes will meet two days a week with two different sessions offered:
Mondays and Wednesdays
9am - 12:15pm OR 6pm - 9:15pm
Tuesdays and Thursdays
9am - 12:15pm OR 6pm - 9:15 pm
Classes will run from September to December 2016
January to May 2017
Please be prepared to attend all sessions.
ESL High Advanced- Tuition Based Classes
Cost:$150 per course (12 weeks in length)
The following courses will be offered for those student who qualify as ESL Highly Advanced, based on the CASAS pre-test taken at registration. These classes are provided to those students who require advanced training in the use of the English langauge for business and leisure activities. Many of our ESL students qualify for these classes every semester and we hope you enjoy them as much as they do.
