Rochester Community Schools operates its meal program using Point of Sale Computers (POS.) Our computers are capable of tracking all pre-paid lunch sales.  In addition, you may view a detailed account of what meals or snacks your child has purchased, and your account balance.  This is a free service for the convenience of our parents.  If your child receives free or reduced price meals, rest assured they will not be identified in front of others.

This is how the system works:

  • All enrolled students have an account created for them.
  • To "open" your child's account:  send any amount to pre-pay for lunches or milk.  Those students pre-qualified for reduced price lunches may also pre-pay at a cost of 40 cents per lunch.  Those pre-qualified for free lunch will automatically have an account opened.  (Note:  A new application is required every year to qualify your student for free or reduced price lunches.)
  • You may also pre-pay any amount for student milk or beverage.  ($32.00 per semester for K-milk --- at the beginning of semester only.)
  • When your child's account balance becomes $5.00 or less, you will receive a "low balance alert" via e-mail requesting you to replenish the account. 
  • If your child has a negative account balance, he/she may not "charge" ala-carte items this includes milk.

When sending in a check or cash for your child's account please follow this procedure:

  • Print your child's name on the envelope.
  • Write teacher's name on the envelope.
  • List the dollar amount enclosed in the envelope (check or cash) and any messages to alert cafeteria workers, i.e. "Lactose intolerant:, "no peanut butter", "No a la carte", etc.
  • Send the envelope to the Cafeteria Manager, or your child may bring the envelope to the kitchen staff..

Pre-Pay Online:

 

We realize it can be difficult to keep track of school meal payments, and that it may be inconvenient to make payments at school.  For your convenience, an online payment service is available at the following website:

 

www.myschoolbucks.com

 

After clicking on the link listed above, you may pay for school meals any time night or day, using your Visa, MasterCard, or Discover Card.  Participation in the service is voluntary and you may enroll at any time.

To use this service, you must first "enroll" on the myschoolbucks website.  Once you have enrolled into the prepayment system, you may also conveniently check account balances, and purchase history, etc.

You will choose a login name, which will be used each time you make a payment or access the website; and a valid email address, where payment confirmations will be sent by Comalex, Inc.  To open an account you will need your child's name and student ID number or birthday.  (To obtain your student's ID number, please contact the school office.) Please visit the website for more information.  If you have questions that are not answered on the website, we encourage you to use the link and contact MySchoolBucks or contact our Food Service Department.

 

Once you have enrolled on the myschoolbucks website and received your password you will then be able to log in and enter your personal information.  All personal information is stored in a secure offline database and is accessed only to process payments and send payment confirmation via email.  The school will receive a list of payments each morning.

  

Please note:  You will be charged a $3.00 service fee per transaction for utilizing the myschoolbucks online credit card payment option.  Payments received at school continue to be free of service fees.
