Technology-Enhanced Learning in RCS
Rochester Community Schools recognizes a need to provide alternative means for instruction in particular subject areas that are not always available or able to be offered as traditional classroom courses. Therefore, Rochester Community Schools offers three different types of technology-enhanced learning courses for students at the high school level: web-based courses (learning via an online course provider), video-based distance learning courses, and blended learning (combines face-to-face instruction with online learning).
The following documents (shown below) provide additional information regarding policies and guidelines for technology-enhanced learning courses: "Technology-Enhanced Learning Courses Handbook" for parents and students, "Student Self-Assessment for Technology-Enhanced Courses" and the "Student Agreement for Technology-Enhanced Learning Courses". (Teachers need to log on to the Intranet to view the "Teacher Guidebook for Technology-Enhanced Learning" for teaching strategies via video based or online courses.)
