STUDENT OF THE MONTH #1- Cullan S.
Zach Y.
Congratulations to our second S.O.M winner, Cullan! He was nominated by his teachers for his punctuality, attitude, and commitment to furthering his education. Cullan’s teachers refer to him as kind and hard working. This is only Cullan’s first semester at R.A.C.E., but he has shown his dedication to obtaining his high school diploma through his attendance and hard work. He hopes to join the Army upon completion of his degree in order to become educated in diesel mechanics. He is only 6 months away from an auto-mechanics certification! In 10 years, Cullan hopes to own an auto shop and to be traveling the world. He is more aware than ever that his education is important and that he needs it in order to accomplish the things he desires in life. Great work so far, Cullan!
STUDENT OF THE MONTH #2- Zach Y.
Cullan S.
Say hello to one of our S.O.M’s for the month of May: Zach Y.! Zach was nominated by two of his teachers this month for his outstanding work ethic and attitude. Both teachers witnessed Zach’s diligence to complete his school work and his compassion to help others. He has perfect attendance this trimester and has already completed one class 6 weeks ahead of schedule! Zach came to R.A.C.E. after he realized how important his education was and that he wanted more for himself. He often says, “The only regrets you should have in life are those mistakes you didn’t learn from.” He desires to attend the University of Michigan, and one day become a neurologist. Not only does he enjoy biology, but Zach gets great pleasure out of helping other people. His late father has been a major source of inspiration for him to go into the medical field to help others. Zach’s teachers say he “…contributes valuable insight in class discussions…” and “offers great advice and support to other students in class having a rough time.” Thank you for all your hard work and dedication, Zach; you have certainly earned it!
