The Rochester Community Schools Board of Education President serves as spokesperson for the Board of Education. Although the Board deliberates as 7 individuals, it acts as a single voice. District stakeholders are encouraged to contact Board members with your comments and concerns. Your input is vital to provide the widest range of educational opportunities to the children of Rochester Community Schools.
The Role of the Board of Education is to:
· Recruit, hire and evaluate the performance of the superintendent.
· Establish policies for the district.
· Review and adopt the budget submitted by the superintendent and align funding priorities with district goals.
· Determine school facility needs.
· Advocate for the public school system.
· Respond to community ideas and needs.

Board Chats are held prior to regularly scheduled Board meetings at 6:30 p.m. in the Harrison Room and provide an opportunity for community members to talk informally with members of the Board.
Board Meetings are held on Monday evenings in the Harrison Room of the Administration Center, 501 W. University Drive, Rochester, MI 48307. Meetings begin at 7:00 p.m., and are videotaped for broadcast on the district's community access cable television channel at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, 2:00 p.m. on Thursdays and 6:00 p.m. on Sundays.
