McGregor 50th Reunion

We had a fabulous turnout for the McGregor 50th Reunion, which was held in the media center during the Ice Cream Social on April 11. Mrs. Francis Smith, a teacher who was at McGregor Elementary the day it opened in 1961, attended the event and was accompanied by several of her former kindergarten students. Throughout the evening, many former staff, teachers and students shared stories and fond memories of their time at McGregor Elementary. Also in attendance was Beth Talbert, vice president of the Rochester Board of Education, and Kathie McGregor Rogers, daughter of Howard McGregor Jr., and her husband, Jim.

The McGregor PTA presented a new framed sketch of McGregor Elementary circa 1961 to Kathie in honor of her and her family's generosity and dedication to outstanding education in the Rochester School District. The sketch was drawn by John Dziurman, a local architect and grandfather of a McGregor student.
