Ms. Olszewski's Third Grade, Room 15

August 2018                                                                                   happy hornet

Dear Third Grader and Family,

Will you be in my class this year? I am so excited to meet you! My name can be
tricky to those just meeting me. I pronounce it "Ol – shevs-key". You
can call me Ms. O. until you get the hang of it. You will find me awaiting you in Room 15.

I am so excited about this year and about meeting you! We will be on a learning adventure together. The renovations kept me out of the classroom over the summer so I will need your help to make our room cozy and inviting. We all play a part in making the space a positive one for learning and friendship. Please bring in a quote about learning or about kindness. Just jot it down on a piece of paper. Here are some examples of what I mean:

“If you see someone without a smile, give them one of yours.”

“You can find magic wherever you look. Sit back and relax, all you need is a book.” – Dr. Seuss

Additionally, I would like you to bring in a book you are currently reading and also one that you loved over the summer. It will help me get to know you as a reader. Plus, if you are willing, you can share the book with others if you get them interested in reading it too.

If you purchased supplies from the suggested supply list (from the PTA web page http://www.rochester.k12.mi.us/hampton-elementary/pages/6326/pta ), please bring those as well. Don’t worry about labeling everything. I collect much of it to be stored and used as needed. If you did not find everything on the list, do not worry about it, I have been shopping too.

Lastly, bring a snack for the first day of school, Tuesday, September 4th. It is a half day.

Enjoy the last few days of summer!

Warm regards,

Lynn Olszewski
