About Mr. Z

My name is Mr. Zagula, and I am the art teacher at Hamlin Elementary.  This is my fifth year teaching at Hamlin Elementary. My artistic journey began with an undergraduate degree from Indiana Wesleyan University. I double-majored in graphic design and photography. After a few years in graphic design and wedding photography, I returned to school for a Masters of Art Eduction from Mt. Vernon Nazarene University.  Before Hamlin, I taught art in Tennessee and South Carolina. My desire to be closer to family brought me here. Having been in other educational communities, I am very happy to be here and I am proud to call Hamlin home.

Coming to Hamlin, I was introduced to a lovely second grade teacher. At the end of the school year, I proposed to her with the help of our former principal, Mr. Cornish. She said yes! Two years later we are expecting our first child (a boy!) I am so excited to be a father.

Mrs. Zagula and I have a photography business and I am always working on some projects around our house

GO BUCKEYES!!!.

I am looking forward to seeing the art your children will make in my class and at home!
