Welcome!

Welcome to Mrs. Clark's 3rd Grade Class!

Dear Students and Parents,

Welcome to the 2017-2018 school year!  I am so happy to learn that you will be in my class this year.  I am looking forward to a fun-filled year of learning with you.  I know we will have a wonderful school year together.

The following list of supplies and materials will be helpful for your use in the classroom.  Rochester Community Schools provides all the necessary materials and supplies for curricular classes, but often children prefer to bring their own.  If you previously purchased the School Kit for third grade, you most likely have many of these items.  Please check your kit, before purchasing these items. Thank you.  Also, in preparation to the first day, please make sure to label all items such as, outdoor gear, school bags, and lunch box. School supplies may be brought to school on the very first day.

-School bag or backpack

-2 Glue sticks

-1 pair of Scissors (Fiskar 5” blunt)

-small set of crayons

-Small set of Colored pencils

-1 yellow highlighter

-Fine-tip red markers for editing

-1 large pink eraser

-#2 pencils (3 or 4 packs!)

-1 Packet of Pencil tip erasers

-1 small Pencil Box 5.5” by 8.5”

-Pack or two of sticky notes (3X3)

-2 Marbled Composition Notebooks  (100 pgs.)

-1 1inch white binder (clear plastic slip cover)

-1 pack of wide ruled notebook paper

- Pack of assorted expo markers

In our classroom our desks are kept very organized. It is recommended that students’ glue, scissors, crayons, colored pencils, highlighter, red pen for editing, and eraser fit inside their pencil box.  Any extra items will be placed in our classroom materials or extra bins.  Students should not bring extra binders, folders and pencil cases.

FOR THE CLASSROOM:  Donations of the following are ALWAYS greatly appreciated:

         -Box of Kleenex to share

         -Clorox Wipes (Bleach Free)

         - Sharpies

         - Paper clips

         - Colored Sticky Notes

         - Sticky Tack!

Please note that our classroom will be peanut- and tree nut-free this year.  Strict avoidance of all nuts and nut products is the only way to prevent potentially life-threatening allergic reactions for some of our students. We are asking for your assistance in providing a safe learning environment at school. Please carefully review labels and do not send any products containing nuts for your child to eat during the day. Snack will only be allowed in class if it is a fruit or vegetable or in a manufacture labeled package. All snacks that do not follow this protocol will be sent home. Thank you.

I’m looking forward to meeting you on the first day of school!  We will have a great year!

Love, Mrs. Clark
