Tips for Families

1. Continue to support you child's art education. Talk to your child about what he or she learned in art class.

What art materials did you use today? What techniques were taught and what was the process you learned?Did you learn about a particular artist, a certain period of art or a certain culture?Did you view pictures of famous artwork?Did you learn any "art" vocabulary words?

2. Art smocks are always available, but it is encouraged that students do not wear favorite outfits and wear short sleeves or sleeves that easily roll up.

3. The process of creating is a major goal and the finely executed piece of art by a child is the bonus. Displaying artwork at school and at home reinforces uniqueness and raises self-esteem. I encourage you to display a child's artwork at home, a relative's home and in a workplace environment.
