"Authors in April" has been a longstanding tradition within the Rochester community for 34 years. Each year, our Parent-Teacher Association celebrates this nationally renowned program by hosting four highly regarded children and youth authors who visit with our students in grades K-8. This year, the fourth and fifth grade presenter is Cynthia Lord, author of the book, Rules. The book is an inspirational story about a young man with Autism Spectrum Disorder as told through the perspective of his sibling. Hugger Elementary students presented a book talk on Rules to Dr. Shaner and the superintendent's cabinet where they shared their experiences and the lessons the book has taught them.
