‘A Dream in Action’ is the theme for this year’s annual celebration of Dr.  Martin Luther King, Jr.‘s life and message of non-violence and equality.  Rochester Community Schools and the Rochester Area Ministerial Association are co-hosts of this community family service.  Please mark your calendars for Sunday, January 13, 2013 at 3:30 p.m. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, 620 Romeo Road, in Rochester Hills.

Our featured story teller will be The Rev. Dr. Charles Boayue, Jr. of the Second Grace United Methodist Church in Detroit.  A native of Liberia, Rev. Boayue has called the United States home since 1983.  He earned degrees from Bethune-Cookman, Florida Southern Colleges, Duke University and United Theological Seminary.  His 14 year ministry in Detroit was preceded by assignments for the Board of the Global Ministries of the United Methodists, Schools of Christian Mission in South Indiana, North Alabama, Texas and Detroit Conferences.   We are fortunate to have him provide a storytelling message of unity appropriate for children and adults alike.

The service will be a wonderful weaving of hymns from three choirs, including University Hills Elementary and North Hill Elementary and adult choirs as well.  A multi-media presentation will accent the essay winners chosen from the entries of local students.  For more information contact The Rev.
