2013 AP REGISTRATION INFORMATION
Dear Advanced Placement (AP) Students and Parents:
The Advanced Placement exams will be offered offsite at Oakland University May 6-17 with the exception of the World Language exams and Studio Art. The objective of AP courses is to prepare students for the AP exam. Students scoring well on the AP exam(s) may potentially waive college requirements or receive college credit. Students should check the individual university they plan to attend to verify their AP policy, either on their website or by personal contact. If there are any questions regarding the AP exams, the students should consult their counselor or AP teacher.
Cost: $95.00 per exam
Registration period: February 20th – March 15th, 2013
Late registration will be March 18th - March 26rd. Students signing up during late registration will be assessed a $20.00 late charge per exam.
Students will need to complete the AP Registration and should pay online at Rochester Schools Onlne Payment starting February 20th.
Registration and Payment Instructions
Step 1: Click Onlne Payment. From the district webpage the Online Payment tab is located on the district website.
Step 2: If you do not already have a Household Profile created you should create a student profile.
Step 3: Once your profile has been created select School Fees from the Welcome Page and then select AP Testing for your high school. Please make sure you select the proper high school
Step 4: 'Add to Cart' the AP test(s) you will be taking. Double check you have selected all the proper tests as some have similar names. If you register for an incorrect test, that test will be ordered. Therefore you will not have the proper test available.
Step 5: Check out, complete payment and print out your receipt.
Step 6: Download and fill out the AP Registration Form RCS 2013 (one time only) and print it out. You must bring this form along with the online payment receipt attached to the counseling office the next school day.
As a general policy, there are no refunds for AP exams. Students that sign up for an AP exam have made a commitment to properly prepare for the test. Therefore, feeling unprepared will not be considered as a reason for a refund. If an unexpected circumstance were to arise, please see your counselor.
Sincerely,
Rochester Community Schools Guidance Counselors
