The Meals on Wheels Program operates through the Older Persons Commission (OPC).  The various Rochester Community Schools PTSA/PTAs work as a team through the PTA Council to cover Route #9 (covering Crooks and Hamlin Road) for the calendar year. Each school provides delivery service 2-3 times during the year. Volunteers sign up for Adams designated days.  OPC contacts volunteers the Monday before their delivery date.  On the assigned day, volunteers arrive at OPC at 11:15 a.m., pick up coolers with the meals to deliver and a route map. This task takes about an hour.

Meals on Wheels is a private, non-profit, volunteer-based service that: Delivers nutritious meals to homebound persons, enabling them to maintain their independence and continue to live in their own homes. The meals are delivered to homebound persons 60 years or older, or adults with disabilities, who are unable to shop or prepare meals for themselves. This can include persons who are ill, recently hospitalized or disabled.
